JW.ORG is obfuscating the matter.
Sure, you can quit the JWs, and when you do you will be subjected to the loving provision called "shunning."
how many witnesses are aware that technically, according to watchtower policy, they can if they wish too...associate with dissociated and disfellowshipped relatives.
for all those who are dissociated or disfellowshipped, please share this with your relatives who are currently shunning you.
there is nothing the elders can do as long as they are not discussing spiritual matters.
JW.ORG is obfuscating the matter.

the forward the following story is my fifty year relationship with the watchtower bible and tract society otherwise known as the jehovah witnesses.
it started when i was just two years old and ended just one week after 9/11, 2001 just three weeks before my fifty second birthday.
i was basically raised in that thought system i became a full time minister in my late teens.
Do you intend to use a spell/grammar-checker or seek the benevolence of an editor, or is that too much trouble?
Some errors: "the witnesses however are pacifist." WRONG! Look up pacifist on the Watchtower CD.
chapter 1 was posted sometime back.
because of it's length chapter 2 will be posted in two parts.
chapter 2 the journey begins.
Thanks! I appreciate the amount of work that you put into that!
i have indeed made the truth my own, and i am never going back to jehovah's witnesses.
the fact now is that talking about this religion with someone who believes it makes me sort of angry.
it raises my blood pressure.
I'm not sure that this is exactly whet you mean, bit I _LIKE_ the concept od proactive, pre-emptive SHUNNING, especially from the perspective of "I will shun you NOW so that you can't shun me later!"
Go for it, and may it go well for you.
this image appears on the current main web page - as you scroll the "witnessing" photos.. weird "facial" image at the guy's right shoulder.. .
LOL @ Splash!
But seriously, fulltimestudent NAILED it.
Our minds are evolved to recognize patterns. Sometimes our minds fool us.
anyone else hear about this.
as all j-dubs know, whenever someone complains about how long the "new system" is taking too arrive, they use the excuse that jehovah works on his own time.
quite a few times during the public talks, i've heard speakers say the phrase "1000 years to us is only one day to jehovah" (my parents never stop talking about this).
Sorry, were you ever a JW? Did you have a "free home Bible study"? Did you ever learn how to use the reference material in THE BACK OF YOUR BIBLE?
I'm stunned that anyone on an XJW site could ask such a question, really!
When I was a pioneer I had a couple of return visits at an apartment that was a little hippie commune (this was before 1970) one day one of the guys tells me that while part of the rotating crowd in the apartment was "discussing the Bible" with me in the front room, the half of the crowd in the back rooms were either getting high or servicing a couple of ladies they had back there.
I was so offended that they didn't offer to share with me, I never went back there!
Were you one of those guys, Sorry?
so, i joined just yesterday after coming across this forum looking at beth sarim, and i though that i would share my story with you.
it will no doubt be very similar to a lot of others, but it's a way of getting to know me at least.. i was brought up as witness from the age of 4 years old, my dad picked up the 'truth' from one of his friends in the pub and it seemed to go from there, he would quickly get baptised and progress to becoming a ministerial servant and then an elder.
from a young age i wanted to be like my dad and become a pioneer, a ministerial servant and then an elder... perhaps even becoming a co. the world, spiritually speaking, was my oyster.
Don't feel too bad. We ALL got baptized for the wrong reason, but baptism is the first step to becoming an XJW.
Welcome!
several years ago, i was introduced to a "wonderful" company called fortune hi tech marketing by a brother and his wife.
they had been introduced by a former sheriff who claims he had researched the company and found no leins or judgments, and that former sheriff had been brought in by a pastor.
you can read what happened with fhtm on wikipedia if you so desire.. this whole new idea of multilevel marketing had my brain reeling, though, and soon enough, i actually signed up with none other than prepaid legal.
I have this idea for selling actual pyramids through FaceBook. I think you have what it takes to be a major partner in my business. Let me know if you're interested, OK?
This is going to be BIG, trust me.
PS - I am not a crook.
i was going to put this in my thread about pyramid schemes, but i thought it's discreet enough to warrant its own.
1) there are many faithful jws.
2) there are many men and women who could take control and fill the void if the watchtower collapses.
After the Watchtower collapse, there will be a luncheon buffet and a no-host bar.
why were we ever a jw?
were we mad?
we must have been .... well, my excuse is that i knew nothing else.
Landy, you probably know better than I do. After all, you weren't there.
I think your number three applies to you. My windows are a bit soiled. Will you do them again, please?
